Burro Creek Jasper Pendant by Artisan Ed Lohman set in 925 Sterling Silver

$337.00

Burro Creek Jasper comes from a pretty small area in Arizona, and it’s one of those stones where you really don’t know what you’re going to find until you start cutting into the rough. This piece had these beautiful layers of lavender and purple running through it, mixed with little earthy inclusions that were already part of the stone.

The material itself has a volcanic story. Burro Creek Jasper formed as silica moved through ancient volcanic ash and other volcanic material, slowly creating the colors and patterns we see in it today. Because that process was anything but uniform, one piece of Burro Creek can look completely different from the next.

The cabochon is made by Ben Davis, and we loved the purple coloring so much, we sent it to Ed Lohman for the silver and inlay bale work.
