Baltic Amber from Poland
We do not make it; we just like it, even if it's not a rock. Lightweight and just kinda cool. Baltic amber formed during the Eocene, roughly 35–40 million years ago, when resin from ancient forests was buried, chemically altered, and eventually preserved in sediments around what is now the Baltic Sea. Some pieces even preserve tiny bits of the ancient ecosystem, like plants, insects, and other organisms unlucky enough to get trapped in tree resin millions of years before anyone thought it would be valuable.
